Christopher Hersh, of Avondale, and two co-conspirators robbed homes in West Fallowfield, West Caln, Kennett, West Marlborough, and New London, in October and November 2016, according to the Chester County District Attorney's Office.
During each daytime heist, a car would back into the home’s driveway, where the Hersh and a co-conspirator got out and kicked in the front or back door of the home, the DA's office said.
They then ransacked the house, stealing cash, jewelry, and electronics which they later sold at local pawn shops, the DA's office said. The stolen items were valued at nearly $35,000, the DA's office said.
Hersh was initially sentenced to 26 to 52 years in prison for multiple counts of burglary and related charges, after a jury found him guilty in October 2020.
Hersh received an additional five to 10 years in prison for a probation violation from a prior burglary case. In total, Hersh was sentenced to 31 to 62 years behind bars.
Both co-conspirators have been already been convicted and sentenced.
The case was investigated by Pennsylvania State Police, Kennett Township police, and West Caln Township police.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Zachary Yurick and Jessica Acito.
